Performance comparison between PCD and tungsten carbide dies

PCD's tensile strength is only 70% of that of tungsten carbide but its hardness is 2.5 times as that of tungsten carbide. These two characteristics make PCD Wire drawing dies have following advantages,

PCD dies life time is 30-50 times as that of tungsten carbide dies. In this case, it does not need to stop machines to change dies. Moreover, PCD dies’ diameter change little in unit time so the wire diameter also changes little.This is very good for reeling wire.
